Big Little Books were thick, but had lots of pictures, just the way I liked them as a kid. Sort of one step removed from a comic book. (But not a Marvel comic; more like a Classics Illustrated) This particular one was about the hit TV show Gentle Ben, which featured Ron Howard's little brother Clint, back when he was a cute kid who probably never suspected that he'd grow up to be the kind of scary looking character actor that he is today. Judging from this page, I'd say the story was titled "Mark Gets Rabies."

Back in the 90's, my friend Kathy Farrell ran the gallery at Monroe Community College, and was mounting a show on censorship. We came up with the idea of Censorship Trading Cards, and somehow I managed to convince the cream of the illustrating crop to donate images for it. It went over like gangbusters. The illustrators were Michael Bartolos, Laurie Rosenwald, Philip Burke, Stephen Kroninger, Peter Kuper, me, Laura Wilder, Josh Gosfield, Joanne Andrews, Chris Fisher, Andrew Skwish, Debbie Drechsler, Dave Calver, Cat Smith and Maria Friske.
