I excitedly picked up my copy of the three disc version of the new Wall*E bright and early today. And I imagine a good part of my day will be spent diving into the Extras. It hasn't been confirmed, but I can't help shaking the feeling that Pixar was influenced in appearance and name by actor, comedian and Marlon Brando BFF Wally (Underdog) Cox. Maybe it's just me...
PS: Just watched the Burn*E short on the DVD. Genius.

Not to mention that Wally Cox's titular character on his TV show was named "Robinson" Peepers and Wall*e is a high-tech "Robinson" Crusoe.

"The Story of Pixar" Documentary on disc 2 made me realize just how real these guys are. Much like the start of this great nation, one false move and everything could have been ruined. I applaud the documentarians for their efforts and can't wait to see what Doctor and the gang have up their sleeve with UP.

That doc was great. What also impressed me was in the Wall*E deleted scenes, Stanton admitted that they were wrong about a big, basically completed scene, then had the humility and integrity to spend the the time and money to make the movie that much better. I also liked how when Brad Bird made The Incredibles, people were asking him what the secret formula was, and it ended up being just a bunch of people who want to make really good movies that they'd like to see.
